Saucepan Kettle Black

"An afternoon picnic on a southern Sydney beach turned violent last weekend when a dispute between two families resulted in a saucepan versus knife duel in the fading light." More at the SMH.

Why?

Because it's more interesting than writing about my personal life.

Because I need to convince myself that staying here is the right thing for me, right now.

Because there are moments in my day-to-day, week-to-week life: morning swims at Bronte, singing in a Swans victory, the occasional sundowner at Opera Bar - when I realize there's nothing day-to-day about them.

Because the world clearly needs someone writing about cutting-edge topics like, "Can you really pick up at Woolies Neutral Bay using nothing more than a bunch of bananas and a cheeky grin?"

Because I've seen Sydney, not from a 727, but a 737, a A-330 and even a Dash-8 at night and it takes my breath away every time.

Because, dammit, I love this city.
